Deacon Scott Landis
J. Scott Landis was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA where he graduated from Frankford High School. After attending a number of colleges & serving a brief stint in the U.S. Navy, he graduated from Albert Einstein Medical Center School of Nursing. In 2000, he earned a Master’s of Science in Nursing degree from Wesley College in Dover. He and his wife Nancy moved to Delaware in 1989, where they raised four (now grown) children; they are also blessed with one grandchild. Converts to the faith, they were confirmed in Philadelphia by the late John Cardinal Krol. Scott was ordained to the permanent diaconate for the Diocese of Wilmington in 2004 by the late Bishop Michael Saltarelli and was assigned to St. Jude The Apostle for the first three years of his diaconate. After seven years at St. John the Apostle/St. Bernadette’s, he transferred back to St. Jude’s in 2015 when he was hired as the Director of Religious Education.
