From the Pastor, Jan 4, 2022:
Greetings in Christ Jesus the newborn King.
Out of concern for the physical well-being and health of the faithful in our parishes, the Diocese has communicated an updated protocol as the cases of covid due to the omicron variant are rising.
The majority of recommendations are already in place at St. Jude. Nevertheless, I will communicate the updated diocesan policy which becomes our parish policy effective Friday January 6, 2022.
- The Diocese encourages all attendees to be masked while attending Mass. NB: This is not a mask mandate; it is an encouragement to wear a mask during Mass.
- Mass attendees over the age of 5 who are not vaccinated for COVID-19 must wear a mask. St. Jude the Apostle Parish will NOT be checking the vaccine status of those attending Mass, but will rely on the individual's compliance with these guidelines
- Ministries and non-liturgical parish activities should be carefully evaluated and, if possible, held virtually or with limited contact.
We are very blessed at St. Jude, as we have long been taking the health, safety, and well-being of our parishioners to heart, which includes having installed months ago an ionization system that purifies the air and prevents the spread of covid. Nevertheless, common sense and Christian charity will help us all remain physically healthy so that we might present ourselves to Our Lord and receive Him in the Eucharist for our spiritual health.
Thank you and God love you! I do.
