Spiritual Communion

As we adjust to this unprecedented time of challenge, please consider Spiritual Communion in lieu of attending mass.  Even when mass does resume, it can be a worthy practice before mass.

Spiritual Communion

During these days in which we are unable to receive Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, it is recommended to make a Spiritual Communion: a prayer that invites Jesus to come into our hearts as the next best option. Here is one such prayer:

"My Jesus, I believe you are present in the Most Blessed Sacrament. I love you above all things, and desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen."
