Parish Pilgrimage 2026
SECRETS OF FRANCE:
SHRINES-CHABLIS-CHÂTEAUX-CHAMPAGNE
MAY 29-JUNE 8, 2026
Dear Fellow Saints-in-the-Making,
Greetings in Jesus Christ, Who is our Joie de Vivre!
I would like to invite you my parish family, your family, and your friends to join me on this custom-designed pilgrimage to France, whose history, culture, art, architecture, and people have long and deep roots in the Catholic Faith.
No where else will you find a pilgrimage like this one, for we will be encountering some of the most beautiful sites in all of France that are themselves hidden gems. As a result, there will be fewer crowds and more time for us to experience the marvels France has to offer, beginning with beautiful Annecy, situated on the Blue Lake in the heart of the Savoy Alps, where we will walk in the footsteps of St. Francis de Sales, the Patron Saint of our Diocese. In Ars, we’ll visit the Shrine of St. John Vianney, “Cur of Ars” and Patron Saint of Priests and celebrate Mass for the intentions of Priests throughout the world. In nearby Paray-le-Monial, we will discover where Our Lord reveals His Sacred Heart to St. Margaret Marie Alacoque. Our journey will continue to Tournus, home to the Abbey of Saint Philibert, then to Troyes and Sens, and we’ll enjoy wine and champagne tastings along the way.
Our pilgrimage will conclude with a week-long stay in Paris, the “City of Light.” We’ll visit the city’s most famous sites, from the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal, where our Blessed Mother appeared to St. Catherine Labouré, to the beautiful newly-restored Notre Dame Cathedral where the Crown of Thorns is preserved and the uniquely exquisite Sainte-Chapelle, with its marvelously luminous stained glass windows, making it the jewel of Gothic architecture. Our dinner cruise on the Seine River will most surely be a highlight of our time together. Excursions to the beautiful Château de Maintenon, Château de Chantilly, and Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte will round out our pilgrimage.
Best of all, we will be celebrating and witnessing to our Faith, forming deeper bonds of friendship amongst our parish family, and enjoying the food and customs of one of the most iconic of all cultures. Come see the France that few people ever think to see and discover how God has so blessed this country with unforgettable sights, sounds, and tastes.
God love you! I do.
