Women in Scripture

May 6 - May 27, 2026

This study with Joan Watson follows the story of salvation history through the eyes of the women who accompanied, encouraged, inspired, and even led God’s chosen people.

As we hear about women like Sarah, Rebekah, Esther and Judith, we will be inspired by their decisions and find virtues to emulate in our own lives. We will also learn from their mistakes and see vices to avoid. Some of these women’s stories are probably very familiar; others might be new. This study aims to help us grow in our love for the Word of God and to be inspired to follow the greatest woman of Scripture: our Blessed Mother, who always leads us to her Son.

This study will use the book, “The Authority of Women in the Catholic Church.”  Author, Dr. Monica Migliorino Miller defines authentic feminine authority with the support of Scripture, the writings of the Church Fathers, contemporary theological insights, and historical witnesses to the role of women in the Catholic Church.

We will conduct this study in four (4) 90-minute sessions which include the weekly 35-40 minute video; session overviews; questions & responses; and, discussion points. Sessions will be conducted IN-PERSON ONLY in the Christian Formation Center (CFC) on Wednesday mornings (May 6 – 27) from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 with Deacon Al Barros & Deacon Barry Taylor.
